The South Florida Council for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (SFCCAP) is one of a nearly 60 regional councils for the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP.org). SFCCAP has more than 240 members in the South Florida region, which includes Naples, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, among other cities.
AACAP, founded in 1953, works to advance the research, treatment and prevention of childhood mental illness. SFCCAP, as one of AACAP’s regional councils, helps further the continuing education of its members and increase public awareness of the field. SFCCAP also serves as a resource for South Florida families with young children or teens suffering from a mental illness or disorder.
